Garzone è un membro dei Fringe, un trio jazz fondato nel 1972 che comprende il bassista John Lockwood e il batterista Bob Gullotti. Il gruppo ha pubblicato diversi album. Garzone è apparso in oltre 20 registrazioni. Ha iniziato a suonare il sassofono tenore all'età di sei anni, ha suonato in una band di famiglia e ha frequentato una scuola di musica a Boston. Ha girato l'Europa con Jamaaladeen Tacuma e si è esibito con Jack DeJohnette, Joe Lovano, John Patitucci, Danilo Pérez, Rachel Z e Bob Weir e Ratdog.
